Latest painting - 'The Mona Leia' - Part III

[Edit (July 17th): The painting is finished and hanging at the Daytona Art League exhibit, in my infinite wisdom I neglected to take a decent photo before I sent it off. I'll pick it up at the end of the month (unless some glorious fiend with more sense than money buys it first!).

As featured in Web Urbanist's '20 Examples of Hilariously Geeky Art and Graffiti' ]

A couple more hours work last night and I'm very, very nearly there :)

I'm going over to my friend Connie's (an accomplished artist herself) tonight to finish off, there's something about the butt of the gun showing above her left hand there that I'm not quite happy with (it's distorting the perspective. stupid blaster) so I'm going to wipe it out. Just the butt, not the gun.

Hehehe. 'Wiping a butt'. I know, man.

I'm going to add a little more depth to the buildings at the back there and I'm still not entirely satisfied with her complexion. Apart from that, I'm a proud, paint splattered fool :)

Ooh, yeah - I also ordered the frame last night (my first dip into the hilarious world of framing), have a gander:

Nice, eh? Hopefully once it's all put together it'll look something like this:

..and if that doesn't win, I'll eat my hat. And the judges, and also their hats. Judge hat consumption.

Cheers!

I can't tell you how often I go through your site wishing I could afford to have you do a star wars painting for me.
This is my new favorite!
Oh well, some day!
